ugh
Well, after one week at my new job, I have to take care of a couple
things. Well, at least one. Due to how much walking I do now and the
habits of standing as well, I have a condition with the toenail on one
big toe. It felt like it was going to fall off. I noticed its condition
last night and tried something to help drain whatever fluid built up
behind it. I guess that's what happens after 4 consecutive days of work.
I put some hydrogen peroxide on it and it felt like my toe and nail
began to shrink, making it feel like the toenail wasn't going to fall
off.
Anywho, I got to thinking about something else. If my former manager /
boss really wasn't a jerk like he appeared to me as, he had a really
messed up way of showing it. As the saying goes, you can beat a dog only
so much until it runs away.

I'M FINALLY FREE...!!!!
I GOT OUT OF THERE!!
Saturday I signed a new W-4 form. After orientation, I cried a little
out of elation that I finally got the hell out of that damn restaurant
as I drove home.
This new job is in a union shop. I will be appreciated, respected, and
treated with dignity. I will get regular raises. I will get paid
vacations AT LAST! It may very well be a place I will want to come to
work.
I also get more access to female co-workers. I may end up catching the
eye of some lady who might be interested in me. I hope it's someone who
I might be interested in, in return. I'm a little picky.
I'm going to beg for hours and be there for them. I need this.

Rant
(apparently, I'm not allowed to have negative OPINIONS of anything, including my employer? Last time I checked, I lived in the United States of America, not a communist regime...)
I get home from work so freaking tired anymore. Today I came home not giving a damn about my job. I get no respect there anymore. Not that I saw any at all that I noticed.
I guess I get crappy treatment because I won't kiss ass, but I do work as hard as possible. I want out of there. Man, do I miss Randy. He got out of there.
I'd love to finally hit the lottery then I'd probably give Pat $2M so she could quit and be a good mother for her kids.
I'm not going to kiss ass. I'm there to earn a buck. It's not my entire life. I've been there 10 damn years, and it's about time I'm entitled to a decent raise for once. I've been there since the store opened. I don't know why I get treated the way I do. I do believe in doing my job the best possible way I am expected to do it and nothing less than my best efforts. Why am I treated badly for that?

What Happened...
The explanation by the phone tech who came to look at the problem, after
having to go back in town, was that the phone company's software messed
up. Well, I could have told you that. ^.^ Seeing as how both times
previous to having line problems, the person we called to report
problems kept saying "the problem's in the house" according to their
online computer diagnosis - and both times it WASN'T. So anywho NOW...
we got a new style box on the outside of the house for the phone line. I
hope the guy did it right because of the Dish Network box also uses the
phone line...
Just glad to have our phone working again.

Why Sometimes You Shouldn't Call 911
OK, around 5 pm Saturday I'm doing an update to my Archive CDrom. My
younger sister arrives to do some stuff for mom, and about the time
she's at the front door, some explosion happens and shakes the house a
little. My sister tries to say she closed the front door and that shook
the house, but I know better. As it turns out, while I was up and able
to look out the window, there's 2 people in a golf cart coming across
our lawn where the external garage stands, and apparently they saw
something that happened and it was across the street.
They see a fire going, and boy oh boy, that was an explosion. So not
knowing what's going on, I get out the videocamera and shoot a little
footage. Meanwhile my sister dials up 911 to report the incident.
Ah. Bad move. Because as soon as she's done making the report, she tries
to hang up and call her house. "Tries to call" is the phrase, because
after the 911 thingy ... No Dial Tone.
Anywho, the fire trucks come out and check on the fire. As it turns out,
the rednecks across the road from us in the trees decided to light a
fire, and to help it along they dumped a container of fuel oil on it.
Which caused the explosion people saw.
In the meantime, we went without phone service for about 1 and a half
days. We had service, voltage on the line was there, just after the 911
call, the dial tone never came back. I'll ask mom later if the Verizon
guy who got here after 10 this morning if he told her what happened...
In the meantime, while I was bored and we had no phone service, other
than the archive CDrom update, I managed to figure out how to burn
Windows WAVe files to audio CD. They need to be 22050 Hz or 44 KHz
sample rate, 16 bit, mono or stereo. And then I figured out how to
record audio from an external source for writing as an Audio CD. Which
means a CD version of my videogame commercials tape is close to becoming
real. I need to figure out how to record stereo audio though. One piece
of software on my mom's Dell can edit video - but without a video
capture device, it's almost useless, but it's there should I be able to
get a capture card that works with the Dell and the software. But it's
also useful for capturing long clips of audio as a Narration. Heh. ^.^
Nothing else on there at the moment will record clips longer than 1
minute, which I used Sound Recorder at the 44 Khz rate to do some clips
off my commercials tape. ^_^
You get bored, you get horny or do something else. Or both. ^.^

Pickled Daikon recipe
From one mailing list I get...
Takuwan (Pickled Daikon)
1 large Daikon 1/10 cup salt
1/3 cup vinegar 1 or 2 qt size jar
2/3 cup sugar 1 small red chili pepper
2/3 cup water
Cut daikon into bite-size slices and pack tightly into jars. Boil
vinegar, sugar, water and salt until sugar is completely dissolved. Pour
boiled vinegar mixture into jars. Put one red chili pepper into jar and
cover tightly. Place jar upside down overnight; refrigerate. In a few
days, the takuwan will turn bright yellow.
"Anyway, it is really good with green tea or genmai cha over rice. I
have tried it myself, and it is really delicious, although it was sort
of on the sweet side so you can adjust the sugar. This recipe is from
the State of hawaii Dept. of agriculture - actually from Times
Supermarket in Honolulu. It's about 5 years old."
I guess I don't have to put up with saccharine sweetened takuwan
anymore! Yay!

Random thought
Doesn't Hilary Duff as she appears in "Raise Your Voice" promos look
like Chii-chan from Chobits? I sure think she does. If they ever do a
live action thingy, she should seriously go for the role, as long as she
maintains that look with her hair. Put some Persocom ears on her (or
edit them in ^.^) and you got the look. Either that or one page with
"Sexy Kirsten". I think an image database of girls who look like Chii
should be assembled. ^_^

ugh
Came home incredibly dead tired and even forgot to post to my blog a
coupla things.
This morning I found my Hououji Fuu pin I bought at Joy's Anime years
ago. Actually, my foot found it with a callus on one edge. How the heck
the pin made it to where I painfully found it is anyone's guess. I
figured it was still in my truck and for that reason I wasn't worried it
wouldn't turn up again since I felt I could buy a replacement. This is
certainly a turning point in my luck with these pins. I still hate how I
lost Ruby Moon earlier this year.
So in all, I figure I lost 4 pins. Princess Serenity was replaced rather
easily. Rabi En Rose was replaced by one of the same character, even
though I still hold some remote chance I'll find that one again. Hououji
Fuu was found just today. My Shampoo pin fell off the thingy in front of
me and I superglued that one back together, so it doesn't count as lost
anyway. Ruby Moon was gone after a gust of wind blew my hat off.
Did a little shopping for a few items I didn't get on Saturday after
work, but that left little energy for when I got home. T.T I guess gas
in some places is hitting stupid prices - I think mainly due to first of
the month greedy grabs by gas stations. That should be illegal. Anywho,
I waited until today to get $12 of 1.85 gas at my favorite place.
Speculation markets for crude oil should be made void and illegal. I'm
sure the countries exporting crude oil are not getting the price the
"market" sets. Someone out there should be put in jail and "trading"
stopped. Competition will drive the price down for sure, but it doesn't
help to use "fear" to drive the price up- in fact that should be
illegal, too.
I don't know why I found about this, but Griz, my grandfather's cat,
likes chocolate wafer cookies. This morning he tried to filch some
chocolate pudding. sheesh.
It's cold again and I hate it.
Bah humbug.

I found the Wish clip(s) I was looking for ^.^
I new I remembered 2 cats messing with something for the one Wish clip I
remembered seeing. A friend of mine loaned me his copy of our mutual
friend's collection of OPs and EDs on a tape, including the intro Wish
clip. The longer version I distinctly remember one couple inside the
house, this shorter intro version has them in a tree. I'll watch them
again to make sure I'm seeing what I think I am. tonikaku, I plan to do
some captures soon (tired right now) but I have unearthed the 2 clips I
remember. Providing I can get Snappy to latch onto the signal (it should
be good enough, otherwise a friend's Copymaster will get some work on
this), I will see about doing some 450x338 captures and then figure out
where to slap them up on the web. I won't be doing an exhaustive capture
session, just a bunch of key images and try to get some credits in. The
ED theme animation does have credits, so I will try to get some of them
and then someone out there with a good eye can tell me where this clip
comes from... But the 2 cats are those that turn into the girls that one
dude has hanging around (I don't want to say right off but I think their
names are Ruri and Hari, ne?), but they mess with something that
produces a lot of flowers. ^_^ I think the name of the song is provided
in this clip as well.
ja jaaaan!
